I was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in Korea, Germany, Austria and Singapore. Prior to filmmaking, I have worked in advertising, managing multiple projects of global, cross-media campaigns from pitch to development and execution. Clients included  BMW Group, Kia Motors Europe, Ligne Roset, and Montblanc International.

I have also worked in fashion and TV, though my creative career initially started in the music industry. At the age of 15, I was part of a K-pop group called Baby V.O.X. Re.V. – a commercial project, which gave me more insights on industry dynamics than it allowd me to explore creative processes. I thus left the group at the height of a continental tour, experiencing little freedom in what felt like becoming another voiceless product.

In film, I hope to contribute to creating mainstream space for underrepresented perspectives, including postcolonial and queer feminist. In other words, I approach some of the proposed norms and values in Western popular media from a globally varied context.

Because of my own experiences as an objectified body in front of the camera, I feel passionate about taking some power back in not only what story to tell, but how to tell it.
