Adam's ideal of Eden shapes it to become increasingly exclusive and violent in its rigid hierarchies. Eve’s search for another paradise leads her to Lilith, Adams first wife, and, to a fruit.
Director’s comment:
The tale of Adam and Eve is one of the oldest, most widely spread stories. That's why to me, it presents an intriguing opportunity to explore subconsciously internalized ideas of the world. I believe fluidity to be the key to create new ways of living outside of old, constricting patterns - ways of living that allow for an open mind, led by the freedom to feel. At the core I am guided by the question: What is our time’s meaning of love?
Emma is the adopted child to German parents and all seems well until she introduces her Turkish boyfriend to them. Her parents claim that he doesn’t exist and send her to an institution, where unwanted partners get “removed”.
Director’s comment:
What happens when two realities clash and one claims dominance over the other? This film blurs the line between reality, imagination, truth and lie.
One room, two strangers and a world in which one has to pay for interhuman encounters. Human 10A 6 6 5X wants to experience what another human being can trigger within her. But are real human connections in this system still possible?
Director’s comment:
In a world that requests alienation of humans in order to turn them into resources, what does being human mean? In this film we wanted to explore the social aspects of the human existence when data destines life.
Alex quit her music to look after her sick sister and is accompanied by an imagined musician, who will play all the emotions Alex won’t allow herself to feel until she screams at him to go away.
Director’s comment:
Through Alex, I wanted to portray a woman who gradually sacrifices her own needs and desires in the name of love. It is an exploration of how to tell and show the inner sensations and struggles of a person who abandons her self-love for the love for someone else.
Even though „cunt“ is often used as one of the most offensive words in today's English, its origin suggests a positive meaning with interpretations encompassing notions of "godly" or "holy". The film provides very intimate insights into the stories and emotions of three protagonists, as it follows them on the journey of a vulva self-portrayal.
Director’s comment:
What freedom are we talking about, if we can’t even be free with our own bodies? Pressure to abide by constructed norms – shame proves itself effective. I wonder, does the world still teach people with a vulva passivity, even over their own bodies? The shift from the observed to the observer is one thing, defining over how to be seen in the first place another. The purpose is to honor self-chosen perspectives – taking power over how to be seen. This film is a limited attempt to make space for individual exploration and to cherish exchange. In all its beauty, nothing tops the pure, uncensored existence.
In Korea, a mudang is a woman who serves as an intermediary between humans and the forces of the spiritual world. In order to bring balance to a community or a person out of balance, a mudang initiates a shamanic ritual in which spirits, ancestors or gods integrate into her.
Director’s comment:
Who benefits from a notion of normalcy that places certain people inside and certain peopl outside of it? How much power does ‘normal’, then, hold? Those who are Other are their own, free to define and explore for their own sake. With this film, I explore what it means to stay true to a voice that, in its full expression, may only be allowed to exist outside of a constructed ‘normal’.
